About Robyn...
Robyn O’Dell is a dance theatre artist and educator from Southern California. Robyn’s choreographic interests lie in the space between theatre and dance; where the psychological meets the physical, where abstraction intersects with realism, and subtext coexists with text.
O’Dell’s process -based works are developed through
a heightened focus on creative collaboration and ensemble building. Her works have been performed in various venues including the Pasadena Dance Festival, Brockus Project Studios, the Claire Trevor Theatre, Glenn Wallichs Theatre, and The Irvine Barclay Theatre.
As a dance educator, Robyn has served as Adjunct Faculty for Riverside City College (RCC), a Teaching Assistant at University of California, Irvine, where she received her Master of Fine Arts, and as a Choreography Assistant at the California Institute of the Arts.
Robyn teaches a diverse range of dance and theatre classes, including contemporary modern dance, movement improvisation, movement for actors, acting for dancers, as well as workshops in devised performance making; where artists work collaboratively through multidisciplinary approaches to create performance projects.
