The Yellow Wallpaper

The Yellow Wallpaper is a devised dance-theatre production based on the same-titled American short story written in 1892 by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. O'Dell's adaptation explores the fragility of the human psyche and the importance of autonomy of one's own health and body through a vibrant combination of dance, theatre, and animated projections. Using a heightened sense of ensemble-based movement and physical storytelling, this production blurs the lines between text and subtext and reality and delusion, in a hauntingly- fantastical hybrid-style of performance.
